Thinking out loud... Solar Flares

Again, I was wondering about the impact of solar flares and paranormal activity. Many groups feature a small blip on the subject-- blip, barely informative and leaving lots of questions. So, I’ve wondered off in search of the information on the net and decided to share the bits and pieces I have accrued on the subject.

What are Solar Flares?

A visit to NASA answered that one.

According to NASA, "A flare is defined as a sudden, rapid, and intense variation in brightness. A solar flare occurs when magnetic energy that has built up in the solar atmosphere is suddenly released. Radiation is emitted across virtually the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves at the long wavelength end, through optical emission to x-rays and gamma rays at the short wavelength end. The amount of energy released is the equivalent of millions of 100-megaton hydrogen bombs exploding at the same time! The first solar flare recorded in astronomical literature was on September 1, 1859. Two scientists, Richard C. Carrington and Richard Hodgson, were independently observing sunspots at the time, when they viewed a large flare in white light."

Several points to know:

Portion of these flares reach earth in 8 minutes with subsequent flows coming over the following hours.
These flares can interfere with or damage electronics- GPS and Mobile Phones are greatly impacted.

A Related Phenomena...

Coronal Mass Ejections are similar to solar flares but usually are much larger.

According to NASA, "Coronal mass ejections expand away from the Sun at speeds as high as 2000 km per second. They carry up to ten billion tons (1016 grams) of plasma away from the Sun."

When the Coronal Mass Ejection or CME collides with Earth it generates a geomagnetic storm. These are the events that wreak havoc with communication, electronics, and pose threats to International Space Station.

The Impact of Solar Flares and CME’s...With solar flares and CME’s there is an increase in particle bombardment on the Earth. Most is reflected by the atmosphere but some does penetrate to the surface. UV Radiation, X-ray, and primarliy high energy protons bounce around the atmosphere.

One of the most noticeable and frequently viewed occurrence in this solar storm cycle is the Aurora Borealis.

The Hypothesis on Paranormal Impact:

Now, you can google this an land on a ton of sites-- which I encourage. I tried to assimilate the information -- or as much of it as I could absorb -- and I’m drawing my conjecture from there. It’s commonly believed that entities draw energy from their environment. Entities will drain heat from the surrounding area, drain batteries in equipment, and sometimes try for energy from people.

So, in consideration of this theory, I conjecture that Solar Flares and CME’s provide additional energy and enable entities to manifest. It’s precisely this "space weather" situation that gives the extra boost the entity needs to "appear". An increase in activity may be paralleled to solar activity. The best way to know if "space weather" is impacting entities is to log the environment.

By collecting data, this is the only way to create and validate the scientific efforts in paranormal research.

A few points to ponder about these solar events....
Do they contribute to improved EVP?
Do they contribute to the likelihood of a full body apparition?
What’s the impact on the digital photographic aspect of research?
Is there a way to measure UV penetration to the earth surface?

Guess I’ll be adding more to my research logs in the way of external data now.

Through efforts, logic, and curiosity-- validity of the unknown can be established. Then the unknown is only unknown to those who turn a blind eye.
